white + white

{zara dress, BCBG necklace (thank you, alyssa), tory burch chunky-heel, kate spade bag}
I mentioned a few days ago that I was Cheyenne Meets Chanel's new intern.  As her intern, I get to help her research and write videos that she posts on her Qwiki channel- which is SO much fun!  Check out the first video on the White on White trend- it hit the runways and the summer 2012 season hard.  I mixed up this trend Harper's Bazaar style- showcasing the black and white's in my closet with my go-to summer handbag.

Memorial Day Weekend

{sunnies: Urban Outfitters, Dress: boutique in Italy, Belt: J.Crew, Shoes: DV, Bag: YSL}
Memorial Day weekend was filled with sweets, beach time with the family, window shopping, and amazing meals.  I indulged in some serious Japanese cuisine, discovered a dairy-free ice cream parlor, and finished it off with a hummus-filled dinner.  It was the perfect way to jumpstart a fabulous three day weekend!

tea parties with iris

 If you could have a tea party with one person- who would you choose?  As I pondered this question, I immediately thought of Kate Spade's recent blog post on Iris Apfel visiting their NY offices.  Not only  is she a fashionista from my home state of Wisconsin, but Apfel is also a style icon that has influenced the fashion industry tremendously over the years.  If we could take away anything from Iris- it's to pile on the jewelry (hello, arm party), contrast colors, and not be afraid to rock a print. All hail the gorgeous Iris!
{look at that necklace!}

dancing in the subway

{forever 21 dress, anthropologie necklace, j.crew heels}
 Adjusting to subways, New York City traffic, and this rainy week was difficult at first, (first time on the subway to the upper east side took a cool hour and a half...I now do it in fifteen minutes) but I've embraced every single aspect.  A subway ride means people watching, quality iPod time, and fast transportation. Traffic forces you to walk everywhere, so between exploring the city and the fifth floor walk-up...it equals major exercise points. Lastly, the rainy days have taught me how to sprint in platforms and enjoy this romantic city with a cup of coffee.
P.S. A little piece of news- Shea Marie from Cheyenne Meets Chanel has hired me as her intern!  I'm so excited to learn from a huge influence in not only the fashion industry, but in the blogging world as well.  She's fabulous!
