let's hear it for the [girls]

forever 21 sweater, 21 bag, brandy melville bracelets, francescas necklace, j.crew watch
As I got ready for my girl's night out, I decided to go for an easy outfit that gave my jewelry a pop.  I incorporated my sassy skeleton bracelets and a fun necklace to contrast the colors.  It's important to be able to balance different color elements into your outfit in order to make this funky look. You can always count on a simple sweater + jewelry combo to feel confident!

DADDY'S GIRL

{j.crew belt, target earrings, francescas dress, lela heels, tory burch clutch. this is the most comfortable dress I own. Plus the sleeves are amazing!}

Ever since I was a little girl, I've shown qualities of my father through habits and interests.  His love for aviation, the internet, and the farm has always intrigued me.  Thanks to him, he's given my brother and I the balance of traveling around the globe to having us spend summers with my 'country cousins' in rural Nebraska.  My dad resides in the middle east so it's always a treat whenever he comes home to the mil and I take advantage of every second.  Happy Birthday Dad and Safe Travels tomorrow!!
                          {thank you dad for coming home for a one night affair}

I vow to wear all things glitter.

Jeans- Anthropologie

I'm absolutely obsessed with glitter, sparkles, and anything that shines.  Today, I wore this sparkling beauty with jeans and a necklace (pictured directly above). When I got home to photograph it- I decided to pair it with my handy dandy leather skirt instead.  If you haven't noticed yet, I have a slight obsession with flats.  Slight may be a bit undramatic- they are my second skin. I find beauty in such a classic look- the flamboyant tee, dark washed jeans, and ballet flats.  When I purchased this skirt, it was the same for me: instant classic.  With this skirt's detailed back and overall chic look, you know you can pair it with even a basic tee and walk out the door with ease.

P.S. aren't these walls dreamy? welcome to the life of a college girl (living in a building with 999 others)! thanks to mah girl shannon for the photos!
Top- J.Crew, Necklace- Francescas, Skirt- Zara (find another fun skirt here), Ring- Forever 21, Flats- Tory Burch

Make a Wish

Jacket- Anthropologie, Dress- Francescas Boutique, Necklace- Tiffany & Co., Earrings- Vintage, Bracelet- Francescas, Shoes- Tory Burch.

After a few hours of snowflakes and hot chocolate, Fall once again graced the campus of Marquette.  During this weird weather time period, we must remember to still incorporate colors into our wardrobe (although this is a lesson I also have to teach myself)!  Going over the top to prove this statement, you can do it in much subtler ways.  For example, wear all your black-but don't forget statement pieces; such as a bracelet, necklace, or earrings.  I wore this to the Marquette Television filming last night, where Sebastian, my cohost, and I were doing a segment on Paris. What's more romantic than being pretty in pink?

What are you guys wishing for on 11/11/11?
Happy Luckiest Day everyone,
catherine

thank you meredith for the photos!
