new obsession: russell + hazel

I am now obsessed with Russell + Hazel.  I've always been able to spend countless hours in stationary and gifts stores- so it's no surprise I immediately fell in love with this online one-stop shop.  The binders and notebooks, seen above, come in adorable patterns that will make your desk stand out.  They also have the perfect key chain for a fashionista- a tassel. Coming in so many colors, you have to buy one for your keyring.  If you live in Milwaukee- I highly suggest you check out Paperwork on Downer.  That's where I spend massive amounts of time adoring all these types of products.
Follow the neon trend all the way to your to-do list.  These post-it's will be the perfect decoration to a busy day.

let's hear it for the [girls]

forever 21 sweater, 21 bag, brandy melville bracelets, francescas necklace, j.crew watch
As I got ready for my girl's night out, I decided to go for an easy outfit that gave my jewelry a pop.  I incorporated my sassy skeleton bracelets and a fun necklace to contrast the colors.  It's important to be able to balance different color elements into your outfit in order to make this funky look. You can always count on a simple sweater + jewelry combo to feel confident!

muggin' mondays

Here's to a week of simplicity- one full of beautiful earrings, dresses, and rings.  Drink a cup of coffee, have a lucky day, and tell those around you that you love them.  Wear a spectacular dress, go downtown, and laugh for no reason at all.
This one's for you, Kina.

return of the fur vest

Ever since my arrival back in America, I dived right back into my daily routine.  Between trying to skip the whole jet-legged part of traveling and homework, I've been relying heavily on coffee and decided to indulge in a cup (or two) on the lakefront.
[steve madden boots, anthropologie jeans, j.crew button down, topshop vest, j.crew watch, gap handbag]
Don't be afraid to mix fabrics and patterns into your daily wardrobe-- to spice up a simple outfit, incorporate different elements, such as the plaid + fur combo.

{anthropologie jacket, j.crew heels...and how beautiful is Kina's jacket? look at those buttons.}
Ciao! The past two weeks have been insane.  Today is dedicated to giving you a diary of what I've been up to, been wearing, and what I'm currently loving.
For my spring break, I headed across the pond to visit a dear friend of mine, Kristina.  She has been living there for a bit over six months, so I actually got to do as the Romans do--and trust me, it was unbelievable.
On the first day of my visit to Roma, Kristina dropped me off right at the Colosseum.  I wandered the streets surrounding for hours and may or may not of downed a couple fantas and gelatos along the way.

These beautiful apartment buildings were right around the corner from the Colosseum and they are major.  Pops of color shouldn't just be limited to our wardrobes--it should be incorporated into our architecture as well.

The last day Kristina and I fell asleep at one of the many beautiful beaches on the Mediterranean Sea.  If you're headed to Rome, make sure you take a train to this area.
Lastly, the shopping was incredible.  I fell in love with two stores in particular; Niki Nika and Gente.  Niki Nika was full of skulls, neons, and studded jean shorts- aka I was dying.  It was a bit on the expensive side, but it inspired my purchases I got from another boutique.  Gente was every girl's dream of couture designers and beautiful shoes.  It's definitely a go-to shop for a serious fashionista.
Don't forget to like my facebook page for more updates and to tell me what you did this spring break!

simple solutions

difference.
sweater (similar on sale at urban). skirt. necklace. bracelet. boots. scarf.
Today I'm all about silhouettes without any structure.  With Spring Break finally here, I want to be free flowin' and careless-looking with my ensembles- with a huge emphasis on being comfortable.

What are you rocking during break?

make a difference

Last night, I was talking to my Aunt Gwen about an upcoming project of hers.  Gwen is a truly inspirational woman- she is constantly working towards helping others.  We got on the topic of a friend of hers, who always asks "What will this do or how will this change and affect the world?"  When I first started the process of this blog, I wanted to incorporate my love for volunteering.  Unfortunately, with the craziness of college, I lacked this year in lending a hand.  Today, pledge to volunteer more- make a change!

spring break: california

the basics: california
When headed to California, all you need are a few shirts to casually throw on, funky sunglasses (cheaper here), and fun shoes.  It's all about being relaxed and chic in Cali, so don't be afraid to throw some neon (this shirt) into the mix to stand out.
swimwear: california
I may not be a swimsuit guru, but I swear by J.Crew and Anthropologie.  The swimsuits always are fashionable and fit well- plus the colors never fade.
bottoms: california
In California, stay feminine or funky (yes, the word shows up again)!  I'm obsessed with embellished jean shorts (here), scalloped shorts (here), and colored jeans

Safe Travels and enjoy California!

spring break: europe

plane to europe
Board the long plane ride in your most comfortable attire, while rocking one piece of jewelry to stay fabulous as you land.  Mascara, lotion, a toothbrush, and cosmetic remover will help you stay and feel fresh as the hours pass by. Lastly, don't forget your phone (to play temple run, obviously), headphones, and magazines to keep preoccupied!

neon. basic white tee. bangles. flats. boots. heels. bag
While traveling abroad, it's hard to fit everything into one suitcase.  My advice? Pack the basic tops, shoes, and handbags then stack on the colorful jewelry.  This helps you pack more and have room for the ride home with all your new goodies!  P.S. Use an over-the-shoulder bag. With all your european adventures, you don't want to waste your time with an annoying purse!european outerwear
Have fun with a fur vest or cape during the warmer days or rock the trench coat when its rainy or cold.  My roommate recently found the perfect trench here- a packing must have.

Lastly, bring some funky dresses to rock during your nights on the town.

Safe Travels!

midterms and mochas

midterms

Midterms are near and the stress is high as Marquette approaches the final days before spring break.  How am I coping with my exams this week?  Nail therapy, Starbucks runs, and mass amounts of beauty sleep.  This week indulge in some serious concealer and a stylish, but comfy sweater and scarf to hide just how long you've had your head in the books.
