spring break: europe

plane to europe
Board the long plane ride in your most comfortable attire, while rocking one piece of jewelry to stay fabulous as you land.  Mascara, lotion, a toothbrush, and cosmetic remover will help you stay and feel fresh as the hours pass by. Lastly, don't forget your phone (to play temple run, obviously), headphones, and magazines to keep preoccupied!

While traveling abroad, it's hard to fit everything into one suitcase.  My advice? Pack the basic tops, shoes, and handbags then stack on the colorful jewelry.  This helps you pack more and have room for the ride home with all your new goodies!  P.S. Use an over-the-shoulder bag. With all your european adventures, you don't want to waste your time with an annoying purse!european outerwear
Have fun with a fur vest or cape during the warmer days or rock the trench coat when its rainy or cold.  My roommate recently found the perfect trench here- a packing must have.

Lastly, bring some funky dresses to rock during your nights on the town.

midterms and mochas

midterms

Midterms are near and the stress is high as Marquette approaches the final days before spring break.  How am I coping with my exams this week?  Nail therapy, Starbucks runs, and mass amounts of beauty sleep.  This week indulge in some serious concealer and a stylish, but comfy sweater and scarf to hide just how long you've had your head in the books.

genre: country

(photos: mine x4, frye.com x3)
A couple weeks ago, I made a trip to the family farm in South Dakota.  I absolutely love going there to see my favorite country cousins, my lovely aunt and uncle, and of course- the cows.  Ever since I was a little girl I've spent vast amounts of time between the farms in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.  So yes, half of my iPod is filled with Country's latest hits.  (Don't worry dad, George Strait and Toby Keith included). Every trip, my favorite boots make an appearance. Frye is the ultimate Fashionista's country boot.  Over the past two years I've invested in a few pairs from this brand here and here. Although, lately I've been falling in love with this pair. I love the mixture of colors and the interesting design.  Frye is a great brand- so even when it takes a good two weeks to break in your boot...DO NOT GIVE UP!

a closet filled with (indulgence)

(Toms shoes, Tory Burch flats, Tory Burch bag, Longchamp bag, and Vintage Fringe Bag)
between squeezing in sweaters, dresses, tops, and skirts into the small closets my school provides to the dorms- you must select the pieces you know you'll wear.  Although I haven't found the special recipe for my closet yet, I'm starting to weed out the dresses and add the chunky sweaters.  As I start to form my own routine with my closet- I promise, you'll be the first to know.

a brand new bloggin' world

hey all, I'm Catherine. I love fashion, the internet, and everything to do with the people around me being happy.  I'm living in downtown Milwaukee attending Marquette University for a degree within Communications. I know that whatever I do in the future, it will most likely be associated with fashion. I love dressing up and styling all my girls, pairing my dresses with flats, and being inspired daily by other's outfits.
I named my blog "Indulgence is Simple" because everything from putting on a great pair of flats and a cute tee to memories with the fam is simple, and every girl's favorite indulgence.
